Szymon w Peru

Here I am. I arrived to Lima 2 hours later, because o the weather condition. We were flying against the 360 kmph wind, so that Lima appeared to be 3000 km further. As a result we had to make a quick pit-stop in Brazil in Fortaleza. Now I can say that I was in Brasil! We stayed in a plane, so the only thing which I could see was a great amount of places with playing football. I arrived to Lima at night. From the plane the city looks great, and the stars… completely different than in Poland.

I am in my new home, I have nice flatmates and big room. I find Lima very bizarre: funny buses, chaos on the roads, all the people smaller than me, the clouds covering the city all the time and prices which are more or less the same as in Poland. Anyway, I feel like a child. Everyone is taking care of me. They explain what should I do, where should I go (or rather where shouldn’t I go unless I want to be robbed), they help me by taking a taxi and so on.
On the roads you can see almost only buses, taxis and funny bikes. There is few private cars: either shiny new ones, or very old. The buses are colorful and very noisy what makes the amaizing atmosphere on the roads. What is more, in every bus you can find someone responsible for cancelling the tickets and encouraging people to get into the bus.

I don’t make lot of pictures because I am affraid of my camera. It is said that you shouldn’t make a pictures before checking if there is noone observing you. Once I wanted to do a picture of a church, but I didn’t notice a group of 5 young people approaching to me. They started to talk something about my camera, but I quickly crossed the road… uff!

The city has two faces, and how do you find it depends on you. On the one side of the road you see a shiny Macdonald

I got to know some trainees and for the weekend we are planning to visit some places south of Lima.
